Department of Prosthodontics
The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge at College offers treatments which pertain to the restoration and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients by the restoration of natural teeth and/ or replacement of missing teeth and craniofacial structures with a suitable prostheses. It specialises in Implant, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. The department focuses not just on quality and ethical patient care, but also gives equal emphasis to innovative and student friendly teaching methodologies.
UG Curriculum
By the end of the course, the student will be able to perform:
» Fabrication of removable partial dentures, denture for partially edentulous patients, including clinical and laboratory procedures.
» Fabrication of complete denture for completely edentulous patients including clinical and laboratory procedures.
» Preclinical crown and bridge preparation.
PG Curriculum
By the end of the course, the student will be able to perform:
» Clinical work comprising treatment of parially or edentulous patients with partial or complete dentures.
» Fixed partial dentures.
» Overdentures
» Immediate dentures
» Implant-supported prosthodontics repositioners / deprogrammers for TMJ disturbances.
» Restoration of facial defects like auricular/ nasal/ orbital prosthesis.
