Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics
This is one of the prime department which is actively involved in teaching UG and PG students. The department has a long standing reputation of providing quality treatment which caters to the needs of various patients with diverse treatment options such as root canal treatment, direct and indirect restorations ranging from metallic and metal free inlays, onlays and crowns, bleaching, various esthetic makeups, management of traumatic teeth and various endodontic surgeries.
The infrastructure related to advanced equipments like electronic dental chairs, apex locators, rotary endomotors, thermoplastic obturators, operating microscope, magnification loupes, bleaching units, radio visiography (RVG), automatic x-ray developer etc. are available which is required to develop skill and dexterity among students. The department also has well equipped phantom head lab for preclinical training and casting lab for fabrication of indirect restoraions which is required to develop skill and dexterity among students.
The department has an extensive library which facilitates the students for the comprehensive feel of the curriculum.
The faculty of the department is active in conducting and participating in various seminars and workshops.
Post graduate students are exposed to clinical as well as research at both in-vitro and in-vivo levels. They are trained and encouraged for presentations, table clinics, quiz and debate competitions at national level conferences and conventions. Special emphasis has been laid on recent developments in fields like regenerative endodontics and treatment of complex anatomical variations of teeth.

UG Curriculum:
- Got trained in preclinical work, including cavity preparation with restoration on phantom jaw models/ simulators.
- Clinical work comprising of cavity preparation including restorations on patients
- Tooth colored restoration for traumatized teeth.
- Viral pulp theraphy.
- Root canal treatment for anterior teeth.
PG Curriculum:
- Endodontic procedures like root canal treatment, regenerative endodontics and periapical surgeries.
- Extra-coronal restorations like all-ceramic, all-metallic and porcelain fused to metal.
- Intra-coronal restorations.
- Splinting/re-attachment of fractured teeth.
- Hemisectioning.
- Vital and non-vital bleaching.
- Veneers and laminates.
- Trained for microrestorative, microesthetics and micro-endodontic procedures.
