The great ambition of His Holiness Shri Gurubasava Mahaswamiji of Bilur was to impart education in and around Bagalkot. The foresight, perseverance and determination of the visionary led to the genesis of the Shri Basaveshwar Veershaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha ( B. V. V. Sangha) in the year 1906.The opening-up of the Sanskrit Pathshala in the year 1907, marked the tryst of the Sangha with educational activities which is beginning of the now running historically for over more than a century. Currently more than 166 Institutions are actively imparting training, education and empowerment to thousands of students under the aegis of B. V. V. Sangha.
To provide higher education and quality healthcare services to the hinterlands and far-flung areas of the rural community had ever been a long cherished desire of the Sangha. This aspiration manifested into reality with the establishment of the P. M. Nadagouda Memorial Dental College and Hospital in Bagalkot in the year 1987.
It is a matter of great pride that the P. M. Nadagouda Memorial Dental College and Hospital which was the first health institute to be established by the Sangha and also the first in the region, The institute through long years of dedicated service and continuous
efforts has made a name for itself for imparting quality dental education to students and affordable, comprehensive, dental health care facilities to the general public.
The Dental College has always held a place of pride among the associated institutions of the Sangha due to its stellar contribution to the society through its compassionate service and sincere endeavors. The Sangha has a vision, for which it leaves no stone unturned in its attempts to make the P. M. Nadagouda Memorial Dental College and Hospital, truly world class and at par with the best in the fields of modern dental education and service.
